Welcome to the Council’s Criminal Justice Services.  We work hard to make your experience with us as pleasant as possible, striving to offer the help and support you need to address the issues that brought you to us today. Through Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) evaluation and assessment, we will work with you to determine an appropriate level of care.

Programs and Services

CRN Evaluation
CRN is an acronym for Court Reporting Network. The CRN evaluation is a prescreening tool used to determine if a more comprehensive AOD assessment will be required. A CRN appointment takes approximately 60 minutes to complete and is required by the state of Pennsylvania for each DUI charge. The Bucks County District attorney’s office has mandated that an individual be given a drug screen at the time of their CRN appointment.  A CRN evaluation is a set of roughly 115 questions pertaining to AOD use, with specific questions about the day of and the month prior to the DUI charge. Based on the results of the CRN evaluation, a full alcohol and other drug assessment may be required in order to determine a program recommendation. The fee for the CRN evaluation is $75.

Alcohol and Other Drug Assessment
An AOD assessment is a comprehensive view of an individual focusing on their alcohol and other drug use. An assessment also surveys a client’s emotional/psychiatric background, family/social life, legal history, schooling, employment, and medical history in relation to their alcohol and other drug use. Based on the evaluation, an individual is given a program recommendation to address any AOD issues/concerns. If treatment is recommended, a client must engage in services within 6 months of the assessment. The fee for an AOD assessment is $140. If treatment services have not started within 6 months, an update/new assessment will be required at an additional fee.

Alcohol Highway Safety School
Alcohol Highway Safety (AHSS) is a 12.5-hour state certified education program that teaches about the effects of alcohol and other drugs (AODs) on the individual, their family and their community. The AHSS program gives an individual a solid foundation about the inherent dangers that come along with the use of AODs. Attendance at a Victims Impact Panel is a requirement of the Alcohol Highway Safety program. The fee for AHSS is $235.

Alcohol Highway Safety School & Intervention
The 8-hour intervention component allows individuals to explore personal issues that might be contributing to AOD abuse. After receiving a solid education from the AHSS class, the intervention program encourages individuals to explore how AODs can interfere with their values. Attendance at a Victims Impact Panel, and 1 recovery support meeting (i.e. AA or NA) is a requirement of the Alcohol Highway Safety Intervention program. The fee for Alcohol Highway Safety Intervention program is $410.

Outpatient Treatment
Our outpatient treatment program is a DDAP (Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs) state licensed program. We will work with clients to develop an individualized treatment plan. Clients are exposed to various tools that will allow them to work through and develop skills that will help to overcome the inherent dangers involved with alcohol and other drug abuse/addiction. We offer group and individual sessions on various days, so please call for availability. Included in the 8-week program is a Victim's Panel and Family/Friend Night. The fee for the 8-week Outpatient group is $490, this includes 8 2-hour groups and 3 30-minute individual sessions. The fee for a 1- hour individual session is $60.
