The Central Intake program is designed to assess the need(s) of individuals, focusing on their alcohol and/or other drug use. The first step in determining what kind of care an individual needs is to perform a bio-psycho-social assessment. This type of assessment considers biological, psychological, and sociological aspects of an individual and based on this assessment an appropriate level of care can be recommended for the client.
Determining level of care is the first step in getting someone help.
Please note that preference for access to an assessment and for treatment occurs in this order: Pregnant intravenous drug users; pregnant illicit drug users; intravenous drug users; all other drug users. (Drug use includes alcohol and tobacco).
