The cornerstone of The Council's Information Services is our Alcohol & Other Drug Information and Recovery Support Line. This free, confidential service can connect you to an Information Specialist Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm EST. Information Specialists can help answer your questions concerning alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Services are available to community members, service providers, community organizations, and professionals who need information, support, referrals and advocacy.

Information
Information Specialists are trained to provide accurate, up-to-date information on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs including, among others, risks, effects, signs and symptoms of use and can direct you to reliable sources of information.

Recovery Support
Recovery is a journey and treatment is just the beginning. Information Specialists provide you with information on support groups, drug and alcohol free activities and other recovery support services to help sustain long-term recovery.

Advocacy
Are you encountering problems with accessing a service? The Council’s Information Specialists will act as your advocate, helping you through the system and working on your behalf to help you or someone you love get what is needed.

Referral
Information Specialists can connect you to local resources in your community, giving referrals for drug and alcohol treatment, mental health services, sober housing, family programs, domestic violence help and more.

Please note that preference for access to an assessment and for treatment occurs in this order: Pregnant intravenous drug users; pregnant illicit drug users; intravenous drug users; all other drug users.  (Drug use includes alcohol and tobacco).
